Community Support

Over 11 million people are living after being diagnosed with cancer. This includes those currently battling cancer, as well as the community of survivors. Consider their friends and families, and it becomes clear that cancer has a daily impact on millions of us.

The cancer community is tight-knit and extremely active. There are many organizations making a meaningful contribution. Lindi Skin has joined with a number of the leading groups and proudly supports them in their fight against cancer:

  • Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from the front-yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra Scott, raising over $20 million towards a cure for childhood cancer and becoming the most inspiring childhood cancer support organization. Lindi Skin teamed up with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to launch a co-branded Body Lotion in 2008. Lindi Skin donates 10% of sales of that product to support childhood cancer research. Check out the product here.
  • Breastcancer.org
Breastcancer.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the most reliable, complete and up-to-date information about breast cancer. For breast cancer information, breastcancer.org is the most visited website. Its mission is to help women and their loved ones make sense of the complex medical and personal information about breast cancer, so they can make the best decisions for their lives. Lindi Skin believes in this mission and aligns itself with similar values. That's why we offer our skin care products in breastcancer.org's gift shop to support the organization.
  • CancerCare
CancerCare provides free professional support services to the entire community affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones and the bereaved. CancerCare programs—including counseling and support groups, education, financial assistance and practical help—are provided by professional oncology social workers and are completely free of charge. Lindi Skin supports CancerCare by helping to educate the community on skin care during cancer treatment.
  • I'm Too Young For This! (i[2]y)
One of Time magazine’s Best 50 Websites for 2007, the I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation (i[2]y) is the nation's fastest-growing advocacy, support and research organization working exclusively on behalf of survivors and care providers under the age of 40. Lindi Skin supports this unique and highly energetic organization by providing skin care products at i[2]y events and by promoting i[2]y musicians.
  • Look Good Feel Better Program (LGFB)
Provided by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation and supported by the American Cancer Society, LGFB is a free non-medical, brand-neutral national public service program to help women offset appearance-related changes from cancer treatment. Lindi Skin has been a donating sponsor of this unique program since 2005, giving more than 100,000 products. Learn more about the history of this great program as it celebrates 20 years of success by reading this article in Happi Magazine.
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
ONS is the international association for oncology nurses. Because oncology nurses are on the front lines, caring and advocating for patients every day, Lindi Skin is dedicated to provide multiple levels of support. We help by donating nearly 500,000 samples, providing support resources and helping ONS conduct research needed to progress the supportive care of patients. Lindi Skin is a sustaining member of ONS.
  • The Touch, Caring and Cancer Program
With the Touch, Caring and Cancer Program (DVD with manual), anyone can learn safe and simple ways to provide comfort and relaxation to a person with cancer. Developed as part of a research study sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, “Touch, Caring and Cancer: Simple Instruction for Family and Friends” is available in English, Spanish, and Chinese language versions. Now you can receive this invaluable instruction at home to gain new confidence and satisfaction in caring for your loved one.
  • The SkinCare Therapy Training Center
This is the premier Oncology Esthetics Certification Course provider. Their Oncology Esthetics Course is taught by Tina Mclendon, a Licensed Aesthetician Instructor with over 22 years in Medical, Oncology and holistic esthetics wellness for cancer recovery patients, and Lee Mallaratt , a registered nurse and nurse aesthetician with over 30 years experience and knowledge in working in the capacity of Oncology hospice and medical research at Duke Medical Center in Durham North Carolina.
